§ 22-52. Authorized; selection committee.

The commission of public safety is directed to appoint special patrolmen to be known as "reserve police officers" in such numbers as the city council deems necessary. The appointments shall be made from applicants selected by a committee of three residents of the city who shall be appointed by the mayor with the approval of the council. One member of this committee shall be a member of the city police department.
